Eggleston Works displays their new $100,000 flagship loudspeaker. The name? "TBA" was all the literature said. NXT displayed their conceptual flat-panel loudspeakers. NXT does not official produce speaker products, rather they were showing their driver technology for licensing to other companies. Interesting applications for this technology? You bet, they used a flat panel speaker as a projection screen! Northstar Leading The Way sponsored the room featuring the new Cabasse Pacific 600 Evolution loudspeaker. These speakers retail for $12,000 per pair and feature a four-way crossover for multi-amp and cable application. Northstar's Frank Garbie is shown in front of the speaker while the designer Christophe Cabasse is shown behind. The electronics shown on the stand to the right are the Jadis JD3 cd transport with external power supply ($7,995), JP-S2S Symmetrical full-balanced preamplifier ($16,000), and JA100 90 wpc tubed monoblocks (18,000 per pair). Cardas Golden Cross and Kimber Select cables were used throughout. Sonic Frontiers' Chris Jensen is shown with the new Anthem Integrated 2 which lists at $1,699. The Integrated 2 is a hybrid unit (tubes and solid state) and will reportedly deliver 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 120 into 4 ohms. Theta unveiled their Laser Disk, DVD, CD Transport. Availability will be in approximately two weeks at a price of $6,495. NHT showed the new Super Two loudspeakers which impressed the heck out of John Upton. At $750 per pair, they sport a one inch dome tweeter, a 6.5 inch midrange and a 6.5 inch downward firing subwoofer. Big sound for a small price! Lamm Industries showed their new ML-2 amplifiers. These are single-ended, monoblock designs with 6C33C output tubes -- each amp produces 18 wpc. The retail price is $29,290 for the pair. Resolution Audio displayed their
VT960 24/96 DVD/CD transport priced at $3500. Using an I2S bus, the transport was
connected to the Resolution Audio D92 DAC capable of 24/96 playback priced at $1500.
Both products are available in Europe now and are slated for US release later this
summer. |
