Music Sales Return to Alexis Park
In January
July 1, 2007
There's some very good news for those music lovers attending the CES
and THE Show this coming January: As part of an expansion to the adjacent Alexis Park
Hotel, THE Show will continue the tradition of housing music vendors in the Alexis Park's
Parthenon Ballroom. At past CESes, this area teemed with sellers and buyers, but due to
pressure put on by the state of Nevada, music sales at the CES were severely curtailed in
2007. As of now, THE Show has signed agreements with Classic Records, Acoustic Sounds,
Reference Recordings, and MA Recordings to sell in this space again, "with many more
to follow," according to Richard Beers, president of THE Show. THE Show is open to
the public -- unlike the CES, which is for trade folk only -- which means that attendees
will have access to more audiophile software in one spot than theyve probably ever
seen before.
Hours for THE Show will be 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM January 7-10, 2008. The Show is also
adding more shuttles to run between its venues and the Sands/Venetian, where the CES
audio exhibits are housed. If you have questions about THE Show, you can call (702)
