Germany’s Elac introduced its 240-series loudspeakers. Seen here is the 2.5-way FS 247 (2000 €/pair) shown in various finishes. Of particular note is the new Jet Dispersion Control (JDC) "diamond cut" woofer design that is used for all the models, and which can be seen clearly in our photo of the BW 243 minimonitor.

Adam Audio makes some very large loudspeaker systems, two of which we covered in our ShowStoppers! section. But the company also produces speakers designed to fit into tight spaces. Such is the case with the A5 Multimedia Monitor (299 €/each in gloss finish), which can obviously be used as high-quality computer speakers.

Trigon is a German company that produces a full line of electronics. The Monolog (4800 €) mono amplifier is said to produce 400W into 8 ohms and 800W into 4 ohms. The numerical readout seen in the picture is a measure of the incoming voltage level, but it can be adjusted on the back panel.

Arcam displayed a bevy of new offerings, including three new integrated amplifiers as well as other products that are part of the FMJ line. Seen here is the A38 integrated amplifier ($1999 €), which is rated to deliver 105Wpc into 8 ohms. It seems to be a perfect companion to the CD37 CD/SACD player, which was also making its debut.

Germany's Arcus had an impressive lineup of electronics that includes the Incantare integrated amplifier (5000 €), which is said to produce a whopping 500Wpc into 4-ohm loads and has some interesting features on its rear panel.

Even smaller than the Incantare, and every bit as impressive, is Arcus's new MusicStation, also part of the Incantare line. It contains a CD player, a 160Gb hard drive for its music-server capabilities, and a 60Wpc power amplifier. The retail price is 1500 € and, again, the rear panel helps to show what a complete and well-thought-out component it appears to be.

Furutech debuted the Ag-12 "Pure Transmission" silver-plated tonearm cable that's $390 USD. It features a four-layer shield and silver-plated-copper conductors. It is available in two forms -- the difference being in the connectors.

Furutech also showed some interesting power connectors. These feature carbon-ceramic housings and rhodium-plated pure-copper conductors. But that wasn't all -- the company had a whole case full of power accessories.
