Honey, I shrunk the Krell amp! Known for its big solid-state amplifiers, Krell will soon release the 150-watt, mono S-150M (above, $2500 estimated price...)

...and S-275 ($5500 estimated price), which offers 275Wpc in stereo and 550 watts in mono.

Now this is more like it -- silvery and big! Krell's Evolution 707 A/V preamp/processor ($30,000) is fully CAST enabled and supports up to 12 channels. Check out the back panel.

Also new from Krell is the Modulari Duo speaker ($65,000 per pair), whose gleaming cabinet is made completely of machined aluminum. The matching Mostro powered subwoofer ($25,000) will be available soon.

In great contrast to Krell's shrinking amps is Simaudio Moon MC-8 amplifier, which could blot out the sun. It will cost $15,000-$20,000 depending on the number of 250-watt channels needed. [www.simaudio.com]
