As he did at CES, Tash Goka of Divergent Technologies put
together a terrific-sounding system of various products that he carries. Antique Sound Lab
AQ 1000-845 mono amps ($4995 CAD/pair) drove Reference 3A Veena speakers ($8880 CAD/pair),
which might be Tash's hottest product right now. An EMM Labs CDSA SE CD/SACD player
($9995) fed the intriguing Antique Sound Lab Flora EX DT hybrid
preamp ($3495 CAD). Cabling was from van den Hul.
As you can see in the picture, Tash did nothing special to
the room; he didn't even move the lamp behind one of the speakers. Yet the sound was airy,
mellifluous and big. Tash has hit upon a significant combination of products
