Alexandria X-2 Series 2 ($148,000/pair) that Wilson Audio had on display. What's new?
Just about everything. The new midrange was developed by Wilson Audio, and the new tweeter
better addresses the driver's back-wave reflections. There are also new crossovers, and
the cabinet now includes a removable rear
panel, which gives easier access to the Propagation Delay Correction hardware -- the
connectors and resistors located on the back of each speaker. It also improves the speaker
cabinet's resonance characteristics. Current X-2 owners can upgrade their speakers to

We've come to expect lots of new products from
Sony at CEDIA, and the company certainly didn't disappoint us this year. In addition to
two new Blu-ray Disc players, including BDP-S500 (above, $500) and BDP-2000ES
($1200)...,

...there were two new projectors -- the VPL-60
(above, $5000) and VPL-VW2000
($15,000, or $20,000 with Panamorph anamorphic-lens option) -- ...

...and the "Incredibly Small 5.1 Home
Theater System," the DAV-1S10W ($799), which does 720p/1080i upscaling in addition to
providing all
the sound.
