Essential Sound Products MusicCord
Power Cords
Why is Michael Griffin of Essential Sound
Products smiling?
It's because he is holding products from his new MusicCord
line. These are audiophile-quality, UL- and CSA-certified power cords. They are said to
utilize a complex geometry and molded hospital-grade connectors. Although Michael is
marketing them to the pro market, they are basically the same as his now-discontinued AVP
line of power cords. The best part, and why we made this a ShowStopper, is that the prices
have been reduced substantially. For example, his entry-level MusicCord in a two-meter
length is priced at $129, and the AVP16 that it replaced was priced at $199. Michael also
cryogenically treats the ES versions of these power cords.
The prices for the complete line of MusicCord power cords
are: $129 for the MusicCord, $179 for the MusicCord-Pro, $199 for the MusicCord ES, and
$299 for the MusicCord-Pro ES. Although these products are aimed at the pro market,
audiophiles benefit by being able to purchase a high-quality power cord with a complex
geometry starting at only $129.
Except for the use of higher-quality materials like
solid-core conductors and proprietary connectors, the $299 MusicCord-Pro ES is similar to
the top-of-the-line $799 The Essence Reference power cord shown above. [www.essentialsound.com]
