McIntosh C22 Preamplifier and MC75 Mono
Amplifiers
McIntosh is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, as
can be seen by the wording cast into the base of this power amplifier. To celebrate, the
company is releasing a limited-edition, classic reissue of two legendary products: the C22
stereo preamplifier and MC75 mono amplifier.
Each system will consist of a C22 preamplifier, two MC75
monoblocks and a book on the history of McIntosh signed by the author, the president of
McIntosh and the head designer of the classic reissues. Only 60 of these systems will be
produced for each of McIntoshs sales regions throughout the world. The price will be
$15,000 for each set, and they are anticipated to be available in March.
Although the cosmetics of these two products are retro,
they are totally contemporary designs inside. For example, the preamplifier uses
microprocessor-controlled switches that look and feel like vintage rocker switches, and
the amplifiers have power triggers, so they will power up when the preamplifier is turned
on.
A proud Charlie Randall, company president,
stands beside the C22 and MC75s.
