Magico rocked the Venetian with the new four-way M5
loudspeaker ($89,000 per pair). The utterly realistic presentation produced goose bumps
for the SoundStage! Network crew in attendance. The new speakers, slotted between the
massive M6 and more compact V3, were lightning quick and spooky in their transparency.
Also used in the magical Magico M5-based
system were Soulution 700 mono amplifiers and a 720 preamplifier, a long-discontinued
Pacific Microsonics Model Two digital-to-analog converter, and a proprietary music server
built by Magico specifically for this event. Magico has earned Standout Demo accolades
from us at past CESes, but when faced with such terrific sound reproduction, there is
little doubt how good this companys products truly are.
