As the final Picture of the Day, we posted this shot. If
you thought I was tired when this was taken, right when the show closed in the afternoon,
you should see me now -- red-eyed, exhausted, ready to crash. That's because since this
afternoon, we've done nothing but sit at our computers and get the coverage ready to go
online. I must look the way Tyll Hertsens did when he did the first-ever live show coverage in 1997.
However, despite being dead tired, I'm quite proud of what
we did this year. I vowed before CES 2009 that we'd produce the largest, most
comprehensive CES show report anywhere, and we did it. Furthermore, we upped the ante on
the whole thing. Look at the quality and quantity of the photos here and compare them to
what you find elsewhere, print or online. From the feedback we've received so far, they're
the best anyone has ever seen. A special thanks goes out to the people who were part of
our show-coverage team: Marc Mickelson, Jeff Fritz, Roger Kanno and Colin Smith. And
although John Crossett and Jim Saxon weren't official members of the team, they were an
integral parts of the coverage, particularly our Picture of the Day series. Thanks to
everyone.
All that said, I'm now signing off and looking forward to a
short night of sleep. I have to get up in the morning and fly home to Canada. After that,
I'll rest for a bit, but it won't be long until I start thinking about the next show we
cover -- High End 2009 in Munich in May. Watch for us there.
